Ballenberg - Part 1 - Buildings

This is a granary building. Look at how it is raised off the ground to deter rodents from getting in.

This very, very large villa was moved to Ballenberg from an area of Switzerland near the Italian border.

We enjoyed lunch in the courtyard along with the chickens! In its original state it was home to 5 families with as many as 20 children.

Another Granary where seeds were stored, away from the house where they could be in danger should a fire break out from the cook stove. Notice the flat rocks at the pillars that make effective barriers.
